Effective date: October 24, 2026
1. The short version
- We collect only what we need to run Imagine Me and keep you updated.
- We never sell or rent personal information, and we never show ads to kids.
- Parents are in charge. We follow the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- You can ask us to see, change, or delete your family's information at any time.
2. What we collect
When you join the waitlist
- Parent's email address (required).
- Child's first name and age (optional), so we can personalize early-access updates.
- Basic technical data, such as browser type and a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address that is used to prevent abuse. We do not store your raw IP address.
When you contact us
Your name, email address, and whatever you include in your message.
When your family uses the app
- Account details provided by a parent, such as the parent's email and a child's first name or nickname.
- Reading progress, such as stories completed, words practiced, and rewards earned.
- Device and diagnostic data, such as app version and crash reports, used to keep the app working.
3. How we use information
- To provide, personalize, and improve the reading experience.
- To manage the waitlist and send launch and early-access updates you asked for.
- To answer your questions and provide support.
- To keep Imagine Me secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not use children's information for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles of children.
4. Children's privacy
Imagine Me is designed for children ages 7–10, used with a parent or guardian. We comply with COPPA:
- Parents, not children, create accounts and join the waitlist.
- We get verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from a child in the app.
- We collect only what a child needs to take part in an activity, and nothing more.
- Kids can't post public profiles, chat with strangers, or share personal information with other users.
- Parents can review their child's information, ask us to delete it, and stop further collection at any time.
If you believe a child has given us personal information without a parent's consent, email loviethestoryteller@imaginemebylovie.com and we will delete it promptly.
5. How we share information
We never sell personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers who help us run Imagine Me, such as hosting, database, and email services. They may use the data only to provide their services to us, under confidentiality obligations.
- For legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy's protections would continue to apply.
6. Cookies & analytics
Our website uses privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count page visits and measure performance. These do not track you across other sites, and we do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad trackers. The app does not contain third-party advertising.
7. Data retention & security
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Waitlist information is kept until launch-related communications end or you ask us to remove it. A child's information is deleted when a parent closes the account or asks us to delete it.
We protect data with encryption in transit (HTTPS), restricted access, and reputable hosting providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep your family's information safe.
8. Your rights & choices
- Access and correction: ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to fix it.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your or your child's information.
- Unsubscribe: use the link in any email, or contact us.
- State privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights. We honor them for all users.
To make a request, email loviethestoryteller@imaginemebylovie.com. We will respond within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first.
9. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will change the effective date above. If the changes are significant, especially changes affecting children's information, we will notify parents by email and ask for consent where required.
